Thoughts and Prayers

How many times can we use those words and really mean them? Do we say them to be kind? To feel the narcotic daze of good intentions?

What do we really expect to happen?

I don’t know. I certainly don’t want to point fingers at this time. But goddamn these “thoughts and prayers,” man. We know it means nothing. Politicians only say it to appear like they give a fuck, but you don’t have to, because you do. The people who let this happen have not been thinking and have not been praying. And EVEN if they were, they’re still not doing their goddamn, motherfucking jobs.

So we, as people, should try to hold ourselves to a better standard. Think beyond the numbness you feel after another mass shooting. Beyond the sense of powerlessness. Beyond your faith in the collective goodwill of other people or a God. Beyond thoughts. Beyond prayers.

Let’s contact our representatives. Because they are there to do more than goddamn, motherfucking think and pray.
